I've released seven solo albums, including 1991's Queen Charlotte Sounds, which features the APRA Silver Scroll finalist single, "Red Letter" I've contributed to a growing catalogue of 14 compilations including several successful album-concert series of poetry set to music for noted NZ writers James K Baxter, Hone Tuwhare, Witi Ihimaera and Katherine Mansfield.
These have given me the privilege of working alongside many wonderful NZ recording artists and songwriters from Dave Dobbyn to Emma Paki, Julia Deans to Lawrence Arabia, strawpeople to Goldenhorse, Mahinaarangi Tocker to King Kapisi.
I'm also a member of the Screen Composers Guild and write music for web/AV projects and short film. Several of my songs have been sync'ed in television & short film, including Shortland Street, The Burbs and The Strip.
I've studied Contemporary Music Technology and Composition at La Trobe University in Melbourne, and Commercial Songwriting through Berklee College of Music, USA.
My song coaching service, Song Doctor, was launched in June 2016 and the Songwriting School has been set up as a result of demand for a programme of regular, teaching sessions.
Welcome to Songwriting School!
